As part of an ongoing commitment to remain at the forefront of the vegetable handling industry, the UK’s leading handling equipment manufacturer, Tong Engineering, has launched a new website in line with its refreshed Tong branding, which was unveiled in 2015.
The company’s new website features a clean and contemporary design alongside easy-to-navigate functionality, and offers visitors detailed information on Tong’s wide range of vegetable handling equipment, including the latest equipment features as well as enhanced product images and videos.
“Following on from our brand refresh in 2015, our new website is more closely aligned with our strategic vision for growth over the next decade, and beyond” says Carole Metcalfe, Sales & Marketing Co-Ordinator at Tong Engineering. “Whilst we are very proud of our reputation as an established manufacturer within the industry, with over 85 years of engineering experience, we are also dedicated to offering our customers the most advanced handling solutions incorporating the latest design and the most intelligent equipment control. Our new website has been built upon these same principals, and its launch will take the online experience for our customers to the next level.”
Created with the user’s experience firmly in mind, Tong’s new website is designed to offer an easy-to-use, informative and interactive way for vegetable growers, packers and processors to access detailed information about its wide range of handling equipment. As such, the new website is built using a responsive web design approach, meaning optimal viewing as well as easy reading and navigation across all devices, from desktop computers and laptops to tablets and mobile phones.
“With more and more customers visiting our website on the go, we wanted to ensure our website was easy to view on all devices, without visitors having to zoom or resize manually. The new design means that however you view it, the website resizes automatically, so navigation is easy at all times,” explains Carole.
The new Tong site includes extensive product information to help visitors to understand Tong’s complete range of vegetable handling solutions, as well as learn more about the fourth generation family company behind them. Equipment technical data, images, videos and case studies are all featured to give a detailed overview of Tong’s capabilities across a wide range of vegetable handling functions, including grading, cleaning, washing, tipping, filling, processing and more.
In order to enhance the browsing experience for Tong’s worldwide customer base, the new website can also be translated into four other languages including French, German, Spanish and Swedish. Tong continues to distribute a large part of its export business through a wide network of dealers around the world, and the new website lists all of Tong’s dealers, including those in the UK, with direct contact information.
What’s more, the new site is also integrated with the company’s social media platforms, including direct links to Tong’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages, which discuss the latest company news and products on a regular basis. Videos on the new website will also be easier for visitors to share across all major social networking sites.
