Procurement Manager
Arising from the continued expansion and growth of the business, a new opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Manager.
Candidate Requirements:
- Procurement experience at a leadership level is essential.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferable.
- Strong negotiating skills and experience in formalising contracts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to foster strong supplier relationships.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
- Knowledge of automated inventory management systems.
- Qualified CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply), or equivalent level of education; or substantial relevant experience.
Duties include:
- Developing and reviewing the procurement strategy with the aim of optimising the business performance and results through sourcing products that meet the company’s high-quality standards, are competitively priced, and meet delivery timelines.
- Monitoring and forecasting procurement requirements of the business having regard to the projected orders and product mix.
- Sourcing suppliers and manufacturing sub-contractors; negotiating, preparing, and finalising contracts; and reviewing and updating contracts periodically.
- Determining optimum stockholding levels, ensuring that these are maintained, and managing the utilisation of slow-moving stock and obsolete stock.
- Ensuring that the quality of products and services received meet the standards required.
- Establishing and reporting on key performance metrics.
- Establishing and updating Procurement policies, procedures, and processes.
- Developing strong relationships with all stakeholders and strategic supply partners.
- Managing the daily activities of the Purchasing/Buying and Stores teams.
