Tong Engineering, the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of quality vegetable handling equipment has appointed a new Head of Finance, as its current Finance Director retires.
Teresa Morgan has joined the business to take over from Doug McArthur who is retiring after 25 years of service with the company. Doug has been an integral part of the team at Tong, helping steer the business through big changes, including Tong Engineering’s takeover of Peal Engineering in 2004. He has been a key figure within the management team, ensuring sound business development and decisions, and has played an important part in supporting the company’s growth and success during his time heading up the financial department.
Doug says, “I would like to thank all our customers for their support over the years. I’m very proud to have played a part in the success of a family owned firm that has grown into a respected international business with customers across the world. The family ethic has always been at the heart of the business making it a great place to have spent the last 25 years. I wish them every success for the future.”
Teresa brings a wealth of experience gained over her 25 years working in the financial sector, including five years at FMCG company Bakkavor. “I’m looking forward to helping Tong with the next exciting phase of its growth by developing an even more strategic and informative culture to help the business progress.”
Doug’s retirement was marked by special dinner, during which Tong’s Managing Director, Charles Tong, paid tribute to Doug’s “safe pair of hands” that he has worked alongside for so many years. “Doug has played a key part in the growth and development of Tong Engineering Ltd. I thank him for his years of dedication and hard work and wish him all the best for his retirement,” said Charles. “We’re delighted to welcome Teresa to the team and are confident she can help Tong Engineering realise its ambitions for further future growth.”
