We’re delighted to announce that our Chairman, Charles Tong, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement in Business Award, which was presented at the East Lindsey Business Awards evening ceremony.

Charles joined Tong Engineering in 1973, working as a machinist. Ten years later, he helped to design the first Caretaker grading system, which introduced large scale grading machinery to the UK, and has subsequently advanced into one of the world’s leading mobile grading machines.

Over 45 years later, although in a more distant role as Chairman, Charles still plays a key role within the business. His deep understanding of the ongoing requirements of the worldwide vegetable handling industry ensures that Tong continues to achieve growth in manufacturing the finest handling and sorting systems around the world; providing growers and processors with the most advanced and efficient handling solutions, designed with their current and future requirements in mind.

If we do say so ourselves, the award for Lifetime Achievement in Business is a very well deserved accolade to the gentleman whose expertise & experience has made Tong the world-class manufacturer it is today. Well done Charles!
